I am so excited that this afternoon I found out I am a finalist for 2 categories in this year’s Scratch Stars Awards! The two categories I’m up for are Gel Polish Stylist of the Year and Gel Tech of the Year.
I will be attending an assessment day in April and will update you all on my progress.
Crystal Nails Supernova gels are my current obsession! These coloured gels are totally different to anything else I own. They adapt under different lights, changing colour depending on the type, and angle, of light that hits them. These two photos (above & below) show the same shade (number 9) but as you can see they look very different just because of the lighting. Totally amazing!
Many of you will know that in November I passed my exams with Crystal Nails to become an International Educator in Nail Art, Gel and Acrylic systems!
After attending a 2 day meeting over the weekend I am now ready to start planning my first courses! To begin with I will be running beginners courses for gel extensions, manicure, pedicure, gel polish and acrylic extensions. If you are interested in any of these courses please email firstname.lastname@example.org

On Monday 6th October I had an awesome day training in Cornwall with the amazing Chrissie Pearce. (If you haven’t discovered Chrissie’s work yet make sure you check her out!)
Chrissie’s work is a real inspiration to me so I was really keen to go on some training with her. The day I attended was Advanced Gel Skills, concentrating on sculpting techniques and French gel methods. I was really pleased with my first attempts using the new technique Chrissie taught us and cannot wait to put these new skills into practice on my clients!

JOJO’S NAILS IS MOVING TO A NEW EXCLUSIVE & PRIVATE LOCATION!
I am excited to announce that at the end of this month I will not only be moving house but will also be moving Jojo’s Nails into my new exclusive, private home salon in the centre of Newton Abbot.
My last appointment at Camborne House will be on Friday 19th September. I then have a week off to move, and appointments in the new premises will start from Tuesday 30th September.
As the new salon is primarily my home I will contact everyone individually before their first appointment to provide address details, please keep this address to yourself and do not pass on to others. The address will only be given to those with an appointment to keep the salon exclusive & private so that you are not disturbed during your treatment.
There will be a slight alteration to my working hours but any appointments already booked outside of these will not change. Future appointments will be booked within these hours:
Sunday & Monday – CLOSED
Tuesday – 9am-6pm
Wednesday – 10am-8pm
Thursday – 10am-7:30pm
Friday – 9am-6pm
Thank you all for your continued support and I look forward to seeing you soon!

I’ve been a reader of Scratch magazine for a number of years now, it’s a monthly essential for me. Scratch is by far the best nail industry magazine you can get your hands on here in the UK. It keeps me up to date on what’s going on in the industry, and gives me lots of ideas for my work. So, my new edition arrives at the beginning of the month and I’m perusing the pages when I come across this!
My nails in Scratch magazine! I cannot tell you how much of a dream this has been for me, I remember my first read of Scratch and thinking ‘one day I hope I’m good enough to have my work in here’. This featured image was used as part of an article about coloured acrylic and gels, and was alongside the work of some of my favourite nail artists that I look up to.
Thank you so much Scratch Magazine! This was a dream come true and I hope this will not be the last time my work is featured!
